New York is a central hub for commerce all over the world. Wall Street resides there, and it has long since been a symbol for wealth and prosperity, of glamor and trendiness. There is a reason so much comes out of The Big Apple, no matter what the industry.
The business world is probably the most recognizable of all symbols in NYC. Which is one reason that so many events related to it are held there every years. In 2013, this trend is not changing. Quite a few high profile conferences, lectures, meetings and conventions are being hosted in this legendary city.
These are five great ones to check out.
World Business Forum
Held on October 1st and 2nd at the Radio City Music Hall, this is a live lecture event dedicated to exploring the hottest topics in business today. Thousands of people attend every year, and this time around is bigger then most. This is the tenth anniversary of the conference, and they have gone all out to celebrate. Speakers like Jeb Bush, Gordon Brown and Denise Morrison are just some of the high profile keynote lecturers who are going to be there. This is one event you can’t miss.

Pivot 2013
Have you been wanting to go to a conference where the lecturers don’t speak at you, but with you? Pivot is dedicated to that idea, giving you the opportunity to openly communicate with the keynote speakers and through panel discussions. But unlike many that have tried this format, this event is truly loyal to the idea of being social. Representatives for a ton of brands from MasterCard to Google will be there.
Crowdfunding Weekend
Are you wanting to learn how to successfully gain funding through Kickstarter and other crowdfunding tactics? This was an event launched by NYU professors who started off by using it to challenge their students. Since then, it has become a much larger workshop. It includes networking opportunities, a chance to be seen and better chances at becoming funded. It is also one of the cheaper events available.
Investor Feedback Forum
Are you a startup in the early stages and want to improve your investor pitch? This is an event hosted by a number of investors who want to show you how to better pitch your new business to the ones who will give you that seed money. Affordable, held over two days and very casual, you will head to Microsoft for the event.
