5 Ways Your Employer Might Be Spying On You At Work

There’s nothing as horrible as being spied on. Everyone should have the right to privacy and someone sticking their nose into your business is horrible. If you knew some friend or family member was doing it to you I bet you’d go crazy. How dare they intrude on your life?

If it was a stranger doing it to you they might be breaking the law. They could even go to jail and I bet you wouldn’t bat an eyelid if they did because they done something horrible to you. You have to wonder how it could get any worse and there might be a way.

What about if your boss was spying on you at work? But this isn’t a case of drilling a hole in the wall and looking at you as you’re getting changed. This is a completely legal kind of spying they could be doing. What would you say about that? There’s nothing you can say, but hopefully your employer has told you because when you know you’re getting watched you can keep the embarrassing personal stuff for outside the office. If you haven’t been told then your boss might know more about you than you think.

Have a look at these ways he could be spying on you.

1. Watching what you type

If they’ve installed any keylogging software on your computer it means they know exactly what you’re typing because it logs the keystrokes. You might not think this is so bad because you don’t need to speak about anything you don’t want anyone to know about, but what about your passwords? If you log onto sites they will have all your passwords for everything. That doesn’t mean to say they’ll log onto your Facebook and start posting naughty messages from your wall, but it’s still not nice to think your passwords aren’t private.

2. Looking at your emails

If they have email monitoring software installed it means everything you do on your work computer can be looked at by them. It doesn’t even matter if you’re on your own email account because you’re doing it from a work computer. There is a law in regards to your personal privacy, but unfortunately it’s weak and nobody seems to care. If you’re doing anything you don’t want anyone to know about then stop now. It could come back to bite you later down the line.

3. Monitoring websites

Unless you work for one very trusting company you can bet your last dollar they’ll be monitoring your computer activity. Even if you don’t go on naughty sites they’ll still not be too impressed you’re using company time to play around and see what your friends are doing. This could result in you losing your job, or at least getting a stern talking to. If you go one step further and start playing about on really bad websites you might not get such nice treatment.

4. Checking up on social media

You can never be too sure who is looking at your social media profiles. You probably know that more and more companies are checking up on potential employees and there’s been a lot of people rejected because of what’s came up. This is the same for current employees and you can still be punished for what you do outside of work time. A perfect example of this would be complaining to your friends about work. Your company might be able to use it as an excuse to fire you.

5. Checking on your whereabouts

Do you use a company car? If you do then it’s possible they have a tracking device in the car that can tell them exactly where it is. You’ll never be able to go somewhere in the car that you might want to keep a secret. They could also have video cameras all around the building and someone could be watching you at all times. They wouldn’t get away with recording your restroom activities, but there’s not much you can do about getting recorded in other parts of the building.

Jason Haddad says that if you want to know exactly what someone has been doing on the internet then you must use the best keylogger available or else you must consider inconsistency in the quality of the output.
