The 5 Scariest Jobs In The World

The 5 Scariest Jobs In The WorldYou might think that your job gives you the frights. That presentation however is nothing when compared to some of the most dangerous jobs.

So, what are they? We take a look.

Window Cleaner

A job as a high rise window cleaner is not one for those who don’t like heights and especially not suitable for those that dislike standing on a chair. Imagine how wobbly you’d have to clean the skyscrapers of London’s square mile. From the Shard and the Gherkin, to even the smaller buildings, it’s still a long way to the top. There’s also a lot of windows to be cleaned, so you’ll be up there a while potentially. There are a number of courses you can do, however few would prepare you for the real thing.

Embalmer

One of the most recession proofs of all businesses, but one that we’d imagine takes a certain mind set. Embalmers need to use specific skills to preserve the body and then present it in a way that people will approve of. There are all sorts of things that need to be done to keep the body intact for that immediate period. It’s not gory but if you’re of a squeamish disposition, it might not be ideal.

Forensic Entomologist

However, if you’re the sort of person who would dread having to work in embalming then things can only get worse if you are to become a forensic entomologist. These people examine the insects and other items that grow on dead bodies to determine the time of death. It’s a pretty horrible job in some respected and again takes a certain nerve. Of course, you’ll also have to deal with decomposing bodies, murder scenes and a whole raft of other stuff that makes a job as an embalmer seem like a walk in the parl.

Pest Control

Most of us shudder when we see a rat run across the floor or even on the Underground, however spare a thought for pest controllers. These people have to deal with all sorts of issues at work that you’d imagine they could make personal injury claims for mental distress.

The technicians are exposed to terrible smells and awful conditions on an everyday basis and spend their time using toxic chemicals to clean up the disgusting messes left by the horrible pests. It really is not something we would like to do and we can see why the queues for it are low.

Bomb Disposal

Certainly a scary job, after all who isn’t afraid of bombs? While you may be able to get through the aforementioned jobs with a strong stomach, bombs are a different story and diffusing them takes something special. One can just explode at any moment. You also have to worry about being shot when disposing the bomb and in all it really isn’t the safest or the most idyllic of jobs.

These are the jobs that you need to have a certain mind set to join and if you do we’re all ears to hear how you get on.

James Ryan is a lover of his job and could never imagine doing any of these.
